Euonymous alatus

This guy is industrial. It’s not “native” but it grows just fine in poor, tough, imperfect landscape situations. This plant is often over used, but it’s easy to see why. This thing is beast.

Most of the year euonymus is that under appreciated un noticed green shrub over there hiding or screening off some urban building structure. Then fall comes around and this guy lights up red. A beautiful red I might add. Other than a red maple it might be hard to find another plant to light up red like this on cloudy fall day.

Hello Euonymous.
