Toilet paper catches fire on famous oak trees after Auburn fans roll Toomer’s Corner

AUBURN, Alabama – Auburn fans rolled the trees at Toomer’s Corner after the Tigers beat Alabama A&M on Saturday. Sometime late into the night, around 3:20 a.m., the toilet paper caught fire. It was quickly put out by the Auburn fire department, according to the Auburn Plainsman.

The toilet paper has caught fire after football victories over the years. And even after basketball wins. Some of the more recent fires were in 2007 and 2010, the latter just weeks before Alabama fan Harvey Updyke allegedly poisoned the famous oak trees.

The trees have been under duress since they were poisoned after the 2010 Iron Bowl. Updyke has been charged with the crime.
