Pinus resinosa Red Pine

You don’t see too many red pines around. At least I don’t…

This one looked very yellow. After a closer inspection I noticed it was loaded with little grey aphid looking guys on the needles. I thought it was herbicide damage at first, then I thought it was Rhizosphaera ( needle cast ). Then a friend mentioned Lophodermium, another needle cast fungus.

But really, I don’t have a clue.
